Adam Carolla phones in fresh off the “Sunday Night Football” matchup between the Ravens and Patriots that ended in a bit of controversy thanks to a questionable officiating call on a field goal made by Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker as time expired in the fourth quarter. Carolla has been saying for almost two years now, on this very podcast, that the uprights aren’t high enough and need to be extended for circumstances such as last night. The “Ace-Man” stated, “How can a 65-year-old man with cataracts and vertigo look up and tell whether or not a kick is good.” After Sunday night there might be a few Patriots fans that agree.
After a quick chat with Carolla, Rich then talks with Jaguars All-Pro running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who is coming off a monster Week 3 performance in which he rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown in Jacksonville’s win over Indianapolis. Jones-Drew also discusses his holdout that led up until kickoff week and his reasons for eventually reporting without receiving a new deal.
We wrap the show up with the lovely and talented Gillian Jacobs, who stars on the hit NBC show “Community.” Jacobs found herself as a guest on the podcast due to a “chance” tweet she sent to Rich about football and the podcast. It snowballed into an invite for her to come on and eventually her “Community” co-star Joel McHale extending an on-air challenge to Rich during “Thursday Night Football” relating to Gillian’s upcoming appearance. What ensued was hilarious and it’s a really fun chat with the personable Jacobs, who might just be the brainchild behind the podcasts fourth t-shirt to go into production at PuntersArePeopleToo.com.
