The Punters are People Too movement took its latest massive step forward this past week when the Baltimore Ravens requested t-shirts in support of their punter Sam Koch. You see, Sam scored a touchdown in their Week Ten win over Baltimore, scampering in on a fake kick that he punctuated with a massive spike of the football. In other words, Sam did not act like he had been there before. After the game, when asked about Koch’s TD celebration, future Hall of Famer and longtime friend of the podcast Ed Reed replied:
“Hey, punters are people too.”
Well, that earned Sam and Ed two t-shirts, which your humble punter crusader immediately dispatched to Baltimore. Within hours, the Ravens reached out and said the t-shirts were such a hit that they received many requests from Sam’s teammates. When I asked how many, the answer came back: 64.
Yes, 64.
So, thanks to the good folks at CustomInk (who knew there was such a size as XXXXL?) we made up the custom t-shirts in Ravens purple…and, well, you can see the results below. Pure joy. There’s no denying it: punters are people too. If you want to show your similar support visit PuntersArePeopleToo.com – portions of the proceeds go to help save dogs and cats.
