First up, on this Pro Football Hall of Fame special edition of “The Rich Eisen Podcast” is former NFL wide receiver and current NBC “Sunday Night Football” analyst Cris Collinsworth. Collinsworth is in Canton, Ohio for the 50th anniversary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame to honor his partner in booth, Al Michaels, who is receiving the Pete Rozelle Award this weekend. Collinsworth also shares his take on some of the latest news from around the NFL, including the Riley Cooper saga in Philadelphia and whether the young quarterbacks that found success in 2012 will fare as well in 2013
Up next, Rich welcomes Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, who recently battled jaw cancer and is in recovery. The five-time Pro Bowl selection reminisced with Rich about the accomplishments of those early 90s Bills teams and why wide receiver Andre Reed deserves a bust of his own in Canton. Kelly also hits on how 2013 Bills will look with a new head coach and whether Kevin Kolb or EJ Manuel will be leading the franchise in Week 1.
The show rounds out with class of 2000 enshrinee Howie Long. The eight-time Pro Bowl selection sits down with Rich to discuss a variety of topics, most notably the fact that he now is the father of two NFL players. Chris Long and his St. Louis Rams head to Chicago on Thanksgiving weekend (Week 12) to take on his brother Kyle Long and the Bears in what could be battle in the trenches between brothers. Howie discusses at the length the different roads the two took to make it to where they’re at and how he and his wife will handle the big showdown November 24. Howie’s third son (Howie) also is involved with the NFL and works in the Oakland Raiders’ front office. Long discusses the progress the franchise has made the past few years and gives his thoughts on how 2013 might shape up for the Silver and Black.
