With the Fourth of July holiday week upon us, our host decided to pack up the family and take them on one last summer getaway before 2013 NFL training camp and preseason events get under way, leaving his beloved podcast hosting duties in the hands of trusty producers Chris Law and Chris Brockman. That’s right, Rich Eisen is out of town, and Law and Brockman are running the show this week. The guys don’t take long to dial up Rich from the road to discuss some of the latest happenings from around the NFL, and also discuss the upcoming podcast interviews that you’ll hear during this episode that Rich taped prior to his getaway.

Last week, the folks at EA Sports held their annual Madden 25 Skills Challenge and flag football event aboard the U.S.S. Midway naval aircraft carrier in San Diego. Eisen hosted the two-day event and recorded podcast interviews with his fellow event co-hosts, Trent Dilfer and Michelle Beadle. It’s a pair of fun interviews with two of the best in the business at what they do respectively.

Rich Eisen Podcast: Rob Riggle

2012 ESPY host Rob Riggle joins “The Rich Eisen Podcast”

As we celebrate Independence Day, who better to have on the podcast than Rob Riggle, a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps — and one of funniest guys in comedy these days? A big-time Kansas City Chiefs fan, Riggle chats with Rich about the pretty big week he has coming up – he’ll be hosting the 2012 ESPY Awards on July 11. Plus, Riggle shares a great story about his brief training-camp stint as a member of the Seattle Seahawks (courtesy of coach Pete Carroll).

Catch the TV version of the podcast Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network, featuring Rob Riggle, Anthony Jeselnik and a trip down memory lane with videos of Rich’s first ever on-camera gig from 20 years ago.

Enjoy, and as always, thanks for downloading!
