Senior Sports Illustrated writer Peter King dials in to chat with Rich following one of the greatest weekends in NFL playoff history. The Hall of Fame sportswriter found himself in the enviable position of attending both the Falcons last minute comeback win over the Seahawks on Sunday and the Ravens thrilling double overtime win over Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on Saturday. King managed to spend time spent time with players from all four squads following the two contests and shares some of the insights he gathered in what was a spectacular weekend of NFL football.
Up next is actor Rob Lowe, who last year around this time made headlines across the National Football League with a tweet about a certain (former) Colt quarterback and retirement rumors. It all kicks off with Broncos Executive Vice President John Elway, the fourth all-time leading passer of the National Football League who brought the third all-time leading passer of the NFL to Denver. And all Peyton Manning has done is ball out. We chat with The Duke before turning matters over to the brilliant John Slattery. Any fan of “Mad Men” knows very well the uptick in pleasure you receive when Slattery’s Roger Sterling walks, talks, drinks, saunters or bursts his way onto a scene. We discuss his process of creating, honing and, yes, evolving the character that’s earned him an Emmy nomination the last four consecutive years. The star of the upcoming film “In Our Nature” also happens to be quite a Patriots fan, with a son he has been trying to wean off of the New York Giants for a long time.
Next up, Rainn Wilson, the man to whom we will always be in debt to for the way he has brought Dunder-Mifflin psychotic Dwight Schrute to life for nine seasons of “The Office.” You’ll be happy to know the Seahawks are so deeply woven into his DNA that you’ll hear him drop the name “Jim Zorn” on this podcast. Wilson owns two fantasy football leagues and frequently tweets his fantasy woes to his 3.5 million followers on Twitter. Eric Stonestreet follows. Despite being the reigning Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on “Modern Family,” you should feel for Eric. He’s a die-hard Chiefs fan who also… Read
